Job SummaryThe Palliative Care Physician Assistant will work under the supervision of a physician to provide comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses. This includes performing physical examinations, managing symptoms, and developing treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Perform physical examinations and medical management of palliative care patients
- Provide symptom management for patients, including pain, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dyspnea, delirium, anxiety, and depression
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory and X-ray
- Monitor patient treatment and make referrals to physicians or specialists as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and social workers to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
- Experience in Palliative care, ICU hospitalist, or oncology required
- Current, valid Florida APRN or PA license
- ANCC, AANP (or equivalent) or NCCPA Certification
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- Current, valid DEA license
