Job Summary

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complex analysis of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
  • Receive and process specimens, and put away supplies when received in the department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve instrument problems, and document corrective action in appropriate logs.
  • Ensure quality control is properly performed and logged, and follow proper department procedure for corrective action.
  • Train new employees and/or students in laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Participate in phlebotomy and accession responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
  • MT registry or eligible, with successful completion of MT registry within 6 months of eligibility or hire.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
