Job Summary

Zachry Group is seeking a skilled Boilermaker 1 to join our team. As a Boilermaker 1, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining industrial equipment, including pressure vessels, boilers, and other mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts, such as safety valves or regulators.
  • Demolition and structural fitting of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections or other parts into place.
  • Study blueprints to determine locations, relationships, or dimensions of parts.
  • Follow direction from supervisor and perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient mechanical skills, including knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Able to communicate items of concern found during inspections and walk-downs.
  • Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment, including organization and time management.
  • Good reading comprehension and ability to work with others as a team player.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors, commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Boilermaker 1 will be required to work in a fast-paced industrial environment, with frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. The employee will also be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off of platforms. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required to be worn at all times.

The work environment will include exposure to moderate to high noise levels, light to heavy equipment, vehicles, and materials. The employee will be required to work in all weather conditions, ranging from warm/hot to cool/cold, and occasional rain.
