Job Summary

MGA Homecare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Educator to join our team. As a Clinical Educator, you will play a vital role in promoting best practices through staff development and education, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement education programs that incorporate principles of adult learning
• Coordinate orientation of new clinical staff to the organization
• Develop and coordinate education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation for clinical staff
• Work in correlation with and under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Services
• Develop and coordinate core education to address patient population-specific nursing care
• Develop and coordinate core education for the development of bedside leaders
• Plan, prepare, and maintain materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target clinical audience
• Identify and evaluate instructional materials in all types of media and formats
• Adjust content and teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs
• Provide educational opportunities that benefit nurses at all stages of their career development
• Deliver competence-based programs for nursing staff with a focus on the improvement of skills and retention of knowledge
• Develop evidence-based educational materials
• Coordinate and facilitate in-service and educational classes for clinical staff
• Support staff development with educational activities, including remediation, certification, mentoring, documentation, policies, and procedures
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programming
• Prepare short- and long-term planning and programs to address identified needs of clinical staff for patient care
• Teach content as needed and/or assigned within clinical expertise to facilitate orientation, staff development, and/or safe practice

Consultant

• Serve as an educational consultant to facilities, task forces, committees, and projects relating to policy, procedure, and program development
• Consult with clinical staff regarding individual learning needs

Facilitator

• Facilitate the adult learning process, creating a climate that supports learning across the organization
• Identify and recruit internal and external resources (nurses, doctors, other specialists) for educational activities
• Coordinate educational activities, including continuing education credit, clinical affiliations, and nurse orientation

Change Agent

• Ensure that educational programs are congruent with organizational missions, values, and goals
• Maintain flexibility when managing multiple roles and responsibilities
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment

Leader

• Serve as a role model to promote excellence and safety
• Maintain required educational and/or clinical competencies
• Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice
• Serve as a role model for education and professional nursing practice
• Role model and promote the concept of lifelong learning
• Lead committees, work groups, and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities
• Perform all other duties as delegated from the Director of Clinical Services
• Support and execute the mission, ethics, and goals of the company effectively
• Represent themselves in a positive and professional manner in the company and community
• Adhere to dress code with a clean and neat professional appearance
• Report on time and as scheduled to complete work within the designated time
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, Employee Agreement, or communicated from the executive team

Qualifications

• Current state license as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of two years in an Acute Care setting preferred
• Demonstrate leadership capabilities with strong supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented, flexible, good organizational, and time management skills
• Knowledge of cost management for clinical services
• Current CPR card and current health certificate
