Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at Tohono O'odham Nation Healthcare. As a Paramedic, you will provide advanced life support care to patients in emergency situations, conducting initial assessments, prioritizing patient care, and transporting patients to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, identifying and treating trauma and medical emergencies
  • Provide advanced treatment outlined by Arizona Department of Health Services approved protocols
  • Assist with patient movement, lifting, and carrying to emergency vehicles and treatment facilities
  • Treat fractures, dislocations, sprains, and eye injuries, as well as identify cardiac abnormalities and other medical issues
  • Assess scenes, recognize the need for additional personnel, and triage patients
  • Operate emergency and patient transport vehicles safely under various weather and traffic conditions
  • Perform patient transport and care duties, determining the most appropriate transport modalities for patient needs
  • Maintain vehicles, performing decontamination, supply replacement, and safety inspections
  • Communicate effectively with medical and ancillary personnel, using emergency communication techniques and equipment
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
  • One year of experience as a Paramedic
  • Certification as a Paramedic Level Emergency Medical Technician with the State of Arizona
  • Current certification in CPR, Advance Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment, making quick decisions to ensure patient safety and well-being
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced emergency environment, with frequent exposure to stressful situations. The incumbent must be able to work independently and as part of a team, communicating effectively with medical and ancillary personnel. The position also requires the ability to lift, move, and position patients, as well as operate emergency and patient transport vehicles safely under various weather and traffic conditions.
