Position OverviewSummary

The Clinical Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in utilizing laboratory expertise to execute and document results of well-defined laboratory protocols, ensuring optimal patient care. This position requires accountability for assigned shifts and may involve overtime and on-call duties as necessary. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens to guarantee precise and timely test processing.
  • Conducts and reports on requested laboratory tests.
  • Implements quality control measures, proficiency assessments, and routine maintenance of instruments along with inventory management.
  • Ensures accurate patient identification to minimize analytical and post-analytical errors and/or adverse patient outcomes.
  • Encourages continuous professional development.
  • Achieves designated objectives.
Qualifications and Experience

Experience

Preferred: Experience in a hospital setting is advantageous.

Minimum: Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program is required, no prior experience necessary.

Licensure and Certification

Minimum: Temporary state licensure and/or national registration or certification in accordance with current federal and/or state regulations. Full licensure must be obtained within six months of employment.

Essential Skills

Minimum: Basic proficiency in computer usage.
