About the Role:
We are currently seeking certified Emergency Medical Technicians in New York State to provide essential emergency medical services. Our organization has a rich history of over 30 years, serving the diverse communities of NYC with pride and commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
Emergency Medical Technicians are expected to adhere to the protocols established by the Department of Health - Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems, as well as the guidelines set forth by the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council of NYC for Basic Life Support.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Possession of a valid NY State EMT certification; NREMT certification alone is insufficient.
- For EMTs assigned as drivers, a minimum age of 20 years and at least one year of driving experience in New York City is required.
- A valid New York State D Class driver's license with no more than 6 points or 2 major moving violations is mandatory.
- Physical capability to lift 125 lbs. in compliance with NYS DOH standards and successful completion of a lifting assessment.
- Ability to obtain 19A physical clearance and a negative PPD test (vouchers provided).
- Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screening, including THC/cannabis, is required (strict no tolerance policy).
- Commitment to at least two 8-hour shifts per week on consistent days.
- Per diem options are currently unavailable; only part-time or full-time steady scheduling is offered.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.
- Criminal history will be evaluated in accordance with the New York City Fair Chance Act.
