Job Overview:

Prisma Health is seeking a dedicated Nutrition Specialist to join our team in Columbia, SC.

About the Role:

This position involves providing nutrition care and education to patients and/or caregivers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to interpret data, teach, communicate with other healthcare professionals, and manipulate numbers.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates, reviews, plans, updates, and implements medical nutrition therapy to patients according to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitors patients receiving nutrition support.
  • Provides nutrition education to patients, caregivers, staff, and community partners.
  • Serves as a preceptor for medical, dietetic, and food service interns and/or clinical research.
  • Participates and serves on interdisciplinary team meetings, patient rounds, multidisciplinary committees, and/or discharge planning.
  • Assists with performance and quality improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an Academy of Dietetics (AND) accredited institution and/or approved internship program.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Registration.
  • South Carolina Dietetics License.
  • Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
