Position Overview
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of patient rehabilitation programs as designed and overseen by a licensed Physical Therapist. This role necessitates a physician's referral and an initial evaluation by the Physical Therapist before the PTA can engage with the patient. The PTA is responsible for communicating patient progress to the supervising Physical Therapist and maintaining precise documentation in the patient's medical records.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing patient treatment plans under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation for each patient.
- Participate in a rotation system for specialized services as needed.
- Contribute to departmental improvements through active involvement in committees and program development.
Work Schedule
Employees in this role are expected to fulfill a minimum of two shifts that are challenging to staff, as outlined by the Rehab PRN policy, with a minimum frequency of six shifts within the posted work schedule over an eight-week period.
Qualifications
- Less than 1 year of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Physical Therapy Assistant certification from an accredited program.
- Associate Degree in a related field.
Job Details
This is a PRN position, primarily during daytime hours.
