Position Details:
Driver compensation starts at a minimum of $1350 weekly (specific requirements will be discussed during the interview).
Potential earnings of $70,000 or more annually.
Home every night, local routes, weekends off.
Work schedule is Monday to Friday with dispatch times between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM.

Role Purpose:


The Driver - SCM is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and/or unload food and related products safely and promptly, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

The role involves professional communication and interaction with customers, vendors, and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely responses to inquiries.

Actively participates as a team member within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to best serve the company.


Key Responsibilities:


Conducts all necessary safety inspections (i.e., pre/post trip) of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations; ensures vehicles meet company safety standards and takes appropriate actions as needed.
Reports any safety concerns and/or required repairs. Adheres to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies.
Immediately communicates any safety hazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
Performs count checks of items and verifies customer invoices for loaded products.
Completes all required paperwork related to freight accurately and legibly.
Moves tractor to the loading dock and connects the preloaded trailer as necessary.
Drives to deliver customer orders according to the established route schedule.
Unloads products from the trailer and transports them to designated storage areas at customer locations.
Conducts damage control checks on items, scans, and informs the supervisor about order removals per company policy.
Confirms delivery of items with customers and obtains necessary signatures. Collects payments (cash or checks) when required. Loads customer returns onto the trailer and secures trailer doors.
Ensures that the tractor, trailer, and freight are properly locked and secured at all times.
Handles damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork. Unloads all equipment and materials and removes trash from trailers as required.

Maintains a daily record of hours of service and logs them in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.

Performs general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and ensures trailers are kept clear and clean as needed. At the end of the shift, secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork.
Undertakes other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 6+ months of commercial tractor/trailer experience
  • Valid CDL-A, must be at least 21 years old
  • Compliance with all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug test and road test
  • Attains or possesses a valid current DOT Health Card and/or is able to secure a new DOT Health Card
  • Capable of hand-lifting and utilizing equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; product generally ranges from 10-35 pounds and can go up to approximately 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location
