We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at our Parma, OH location. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for analyzing specifications and blueprints, setting up and operating machines, and assembling parts.
Key Responsibilities- Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize the product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
- Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations
- Measure, mark, and scribe tool steels for machining
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, O.D grinders
- Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Fitting and assembling parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms
- Filling out daily operator maintenance checklists, inspection sheets, and all applicable paperwork
- Minimum of 1-3 years' experience with lathes, mills, grinders, blueprints
- Journeyman's card is a plus
- Tool making and die maker experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, G&M code, and procedure manuals
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and proficient in all shop math including geometry, algebra, and trigonometry
