Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Specialist

This role is responsible for managing large, complex supplier procurement activities and cross-functional relationships to ensure best practice purchasing techniques are applied at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and manage strategic sourcing and commodity strategies
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities and integrated product teams
- Manage large, complex supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved
- Accountable for commodity Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance for designated commodities
- Perform inventory planning, purchasing, management, and reconciliation to maintain continuity of supply
- Create and distribute Purchase Orders (PO's) to suppliers
- Support procurement transition from new product introduction to future production
- Represent procurement on assigned New Product Introduction and Integrated Product Teams
- Coordinate required procurement input and issue resolution in support of team goals
- Manage all aspects of the procurement process, including quotation, in-depth quote evaluation, cross-functional sourcing, risk evaluation, negotiating, contracting, order expediting, supplier schedule maintenance/adherence, rate readiness, and other complex supplier launch activities
Requirements
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills with senior leadership and suppliers
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or Finance or related field required
- SAP Ariba experience
- ~7 or more years purchasing or supply chain experience
- Basic knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings for component parts
- Familiar with engineering change processes and bills of materials
- Proven track record of developing and managing national suppliers or group purchasing organizations
