Title: Service Commons Coordinator

Position Overview:

Bates Dining, Conferences, and Campus Events is responsible for managing a self-operated student dining program, encompassing campus catering, cash dining operations, vending, summer programs, and major campus events. The Service Commons Coordinator acts as the primary support for the Bates dining initiative, which caters to approximately 5000 meals daily for students, faculty, staff, and guests. This role requires adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols while fostering positive interactions with a diverse range of individuals and groups. Success in this position hinges on the ability to collaborate within a dynamic team that values communication and inclusivity. Exceptional organizational skills, time management, customer service expertise, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with food service platforms.
  • Manages beverage stations.
  • Restocks food options and cereal areas.
  • Supports cashiering operations.
  • Assists with facility duties, including room setups.
  • Ensures compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
  • Promotes diversity and engages in two-way communication.
  • Builds strong working relationships with other Dining areas and the institution.
  • Maintains exemplary customer service practices at all times.
  • Participates in monthly Dining, Conferences, and Campus Events meetings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Serve Safe certification is advantageous.
Experience:

Prior experience in food service is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:
