We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of Western North Carolina. As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for our members and program participants.
Key Responsibilities- Actively scan and maintain constant vigilance over the aquatic area, ensuring the safety of all individuals.
- Respond to emergency situations immediately, following YMCA policies and procedures.
- Build positive relationships with members and program participants through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the aquatic program.
- Minimum age 15.
- Nationally recognized lifeguard certification (training available for qualified candidates).
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.
