Job Summary

The Clinical Team Leader at Stony Brook University is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all nursing activities related to patient care. This role requires evaluating patient needs, administering direct patient care, and providing education to patients and their families. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Collect and report critical patient data to physicians in a timely manner
  • Assess lab and diagnostic data to inform patient care decisions
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Advocate for patients and their families
  • Perform interventions according to patient needs and hospital policy
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current licensure to practice in New York State
  • Current BLS/ACLS/PALS provider certifications from the American Heart Association
  • TNCC certification
  • NIHSS/Moderate Sedation certification within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to lift patients with or without assistance
  • Ability to push heavy objects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Recent Emergency Department experience
  • NRP certification

  • Stony Brook University is a smoke-free environment

  • This position may require the wearing of respiratory protection, which may prohibit the wearing of facial hair

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton's Employee Health Services
  • Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s)
