Ophthalmic Assistant Professional

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician I to join our team at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB). As an Ophthalmic Technician I, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive ophthalmic care under the direct supervision of the department supervisor.
Your responsibilities will include assisting the physician in gathering patient data, maintaining a conducive clinical environment, and performing various essential tasks such as conducting visual acuity testing, visual field testing, lensometry, auto refractometry, refractometry, pupil assessment, extraocular motility, gross external examination, applanation tonometry, tonopen, eye drop instillation, diagnostic testing, and participating in patient care within a clinical setting.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining patient medical records, ensuring efficient and organized workflow, and participating in employer-sponsored training and continuing education with the goal of becoming certified by JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 18 months from the date of hire.
