About the Transportation Technician - Bus Mechanic Position

As a Transportation Technician - Bus Mechanic at First Student, you will perform maintenance to ensure our fleet of Chevy, Ford, International, and Freightliner buses is safe for road travel. You will also use your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues needing repair work. Your day will include tasks such as performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions, completing work orders, and assisting with mobile emergency services.

Requirements for the Transportation Technician - Bus Mechanic Role

  • 3+ years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (don't worry, we will train you for this)
  • Mechnic's tool set
  • ASE testing and growth opportunities
