Diesel Technician Opportunity

Ryder System is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team in Hermon, Maine. As a Diesel Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated individual with experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of classroom training and work experience in the field, preferably with a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A. Additionally, the ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire is required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Conduct standard component inspections and repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
  • Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • BASIC tools, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines

  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign on bonus: $2500 ($1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days)
