Position Overview:

Hmong College Prep Academy is dedicated to delivering an exceptional, integrated educational experience for students in grades K-12. We are currently in search of a passionate and motivated Secondary Special Education Instructor to contribute to our vibrant educational community.

Role Responsibilities:
This instructor will play a crucial role in fostering a flexible classroom environment that promotes learning and personal development. Responsibilities include:
  • Teaching grade-level content while adapting lessons to meet the diverse reading and math skill levels of students according to their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Encouraging students to cultivate the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a solid educational foundation.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A valid MN teaching license in one or more Special Education disciplines for Grades K through age 21 (up to grade 12).
  • A BA or MA in Education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, particularly in urban school settings with diverse student populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, district staff, and community members from various backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, along with the capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
