Job Summary

We are seeking a Paraprofessional Substitute to support our elementary Spanish Immersion classrooms. The successful candidate will provide instructional support, supervise students, and assist the licensed teacher in classroom management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support by working with small groups and individual students under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Supervise students during recess and the teacher's lunch break and prep period.
  • Assist the licensed teacher in classroom management.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated language proficiency in both Spanish and English.
  • Experience in working with school-age children.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect, protect, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on a project.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
  • Evidence of the ability and inclination to take charge of student behavior as circumstances suggest.
  • Evidence of the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Evidence of excellent human relations and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc.
