Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist with Christus Health, you will play a critical role in the pulmonary care of adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Under the direction of a physician, you will perform patient assessments, institute respiratory care plans, and execute various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen delivery devices, and other respiratory equipment.
  • Conduct chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • RT or RCP License in the state of employment.
  • BLS certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • ACLS certification.
  • PALS certification.
  • NRP certification.
