Job Summary:

The Operating Room Technician is responsible for preparing sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining a sterile field during cases, and providing surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure
  • Maintain a sterile field during cases
  • Provide surgeons with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014
  • Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred)

Experience:

  • Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics)
  • Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current

Compensation:

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $22.57 to $36.00. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
