Position Overview:
As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Positioning patients accurately and adjusting machinery to ensure effective treatment delivery.
- Monitoring patients' health during therapy to assess their response and identify any adverse reactions.
- Taking and documenting X-rays to assist in planning radiation treatment based on tumor locations.
- Collecting and analyzing data regarding patient conditions and treatment progress to enhance treatment methodologies.
- Educating patients on their treatment options and expected recovery timelines.
- Providing emotional support to patients undergoing treatment for serious illnesses.
- Supervising technicians involved in treatment administration.
- Reporting safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Explaining the implications of radiation treatment on patients' health and wellbeing.
Qualifications:
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Certification from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Excellent technical skills.
- Passion for patient care.
- Minimum of two years of current RN experience in Radiation Oncology.
- Graduation from an accredited RN program.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in California.
- One year of experience with Epic software.
Requirements:
- Completion of COVID vaccination, including two shots and a booster.

- Commitment to maintaining and updating clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participation in relevant continuing education programs.
- Dedication to providing the highest standard of patient care and service excellence.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills.
