About Forensic Pathology at AMN Healthcare

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Pathologist to join our team in Detroit, MI. As a key member of our pathology department, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive autopsy services and expert witness testimony.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect an annual salary of $275,000 to $290,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive compensation package, we offer a range of benefits, including reimbursement for licensure, maintenance of certification (MOC), and professional association fees, as well as a $25,000 sign-on bonus.

Job Description

In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to work with a unique and diverse case mix, including a wide range of forensic cases. You will be part of a seasoned team, including full-time photographers, medical investigators, pathologists' assistants, clerical support, and autopsy technicians. Our structured workdays prioritize pathologist balance, creating an enriching professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform autopsies and provide expert witness testimony
  • Develop and implement pathology protocols
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive care
  • Train and teach medical students, pathology residents, forensic pathology fellows, and pathologists' assistants

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should be certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic pathology and/or forensic pathology. We also welcome board-eligible candidates who will successfully complete their certifications within two years.
