Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist evaluates, treats, and creates an appropriate plan of care for post-surgical orthopedic patients. Administers treatment based on approved physician protocols and patient tolerance in the acute care setting. Monitors patient progress, directs Physical Therapist Assistants, and consults with physicians, nursing teams, and other interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluates and re-evaluates patient functional ability and physical status consistent with patient diagnosis and physician referral.
- Develops plan of care and measurable goals consistent with evaluation findings and physician referral.
- Administers therapeutic treatment efficiently and competently, selecting and obtaining equipment for safe patient return home.
- Documents patient evaluation, treatment program, progress, and discharge summary in medical records.
- Communicates effectively with department director, co-workers, patients, physicians, and external publics through verbal, non-verbal, and written communications.
- Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor's Degree and certificate in Physical Therapy.
- Minimum Three to Five years of demonstrated experience in the field or profession preferred.
- Current License issued by the Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy/Athletic Trainers Board to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Ohio.
- BLS required.
