Position Overview:
The Family Medicine Physician delivers exceptional medical and surgical care within their specialty. This care is designed to be comprehensive, coordinated, and centered around the patient and their family, aiming for excellence in both clinical outcomes and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' medical histories and health conditions, conduct physical examinations, and order necessary imaging and tests to confirm appropriate treatment plans.
- Identify medical disorders and conditions, formulate treatment strategies, and administer care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Execute minor surgical procedures to address injuries, prevent and manage diseases, and enhance or restore patients' functional abilities, consistent with the Family Medicine specialty and as authorized by clinical privileges.
- Provide expert consultations to fellow healthcare providers.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of nursing staff, assistants, and other support personnel.
- Stabilize patients in critical or unusual situations and, when necessary, facilitate emergency transport to a higher-level care facility equipped with the required clinical resources.
- Maintain all licensure requirements, including ongoing medical education.
- Actively engage in quality improvement and patient experience initiatives, collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Participate in patient safety programs, demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety protocols and practices in all work aspects; consistently adhere to universal precautions.
In fulfilling these responsibilities, the physician will:
- Uphold the hospital's mission and values in interactions with colleagues, patients, families, and visitors, while adhering to hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements;
- Collaborate effectively and build strong relationships, demonstrating adaptability to changing work demands;
- Communicate clearly regarding plans, expectations, and clinical progress with hospital staff, consultants, referring providers, patients, and families as appropriate;
- Ensure confidentiality in all aspects of their duties; and
- Document all patient interactions and care in a timely, clear, accurate, and comprehensive manner, ensuring proper coding and information provision for billing purposes.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Family Medicine.
Preferred:
Board certification in the relevant specialty.
Work Experience Required:
No prior experience as a Physician is necessary.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a Family Medicine practice.
Licensure/Certifications Required:
Must be licensed by the NH Board of Medicine as a physician (MD or DO) and possess a valid narcotics registration (DEA number). Compliance with the Medical Staff Policy Manual for each specialty is required.
Other Skills/Knowledge Required:
Ability to work independently, willingness to collaborate in a team-oriented environment, effective communication skills, strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in using computers for healthcare tasks.
Preferred:
Proven ability to work harmoniously and professionally with colleagues and other healthcare practitioners.
