The YMCA of Virginia's Blue Ridge invites applications for the position of Chef Instructor & Culinary Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our culinary program, which includes developing and implementing cooking lessons, arranging events, and collaborating with volunteers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing cooking lessons that cater to diverse age groups and skill levels
  • Arranging and executing cooking events, including managing logistics and volunteer coordination
  • Collaborating with kitchen volunteers to ensure seamless event execution
  • Managing kitchen inventory and supplies to maintain optimal levels
  • Providing exceptional customer service to meet the needs of our program participants

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A degree in culinary arts or a related field, with at least two years of experience in cooking or kitchen management
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for creating high-quality culinary experiences that promote health, wellness, and community building
