Job Summary:

Catholic Health is seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients by providing exceptional food service and nutrition support.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of food trays and nourishments to residents.
  • Assemble prepared food according to individual needs and preferences.
  • Deliver trays and nourishments, collect soiled trays, and clean the kitchen.
  • Sort and store utensils and supplies, and perform dishwashing duties.
  • Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts, and other menu items as assigned.
  • Stock floor refrigerators and perform other related duties as needed.
  • Respond to the special needs of each group served, including age, language, gender, culture, religion/spirituality, economic background, education or literacy, developmental or cognitive disabilities, physical and developmental disabilities.
  • Aid in the orientation of new employees.
  • Set up and check resident trays accurately.
  • Prepare nourishments and follow diet extensions/portion control.
  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Follow sanitation policies for handling and storing food to minimize cross-contamination.
  • Set up beverage carts and other special events as assigned.
  • Work at the dish room station, record dishwasher temperatures, and ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment is properly stored.
  • Clean and sanitize all equipment according to policy.
  • Complete assignments within allotted time and adjust to changes and re-assignments.
  • Follow established safety procedures and precautions when handling supplies and equipment.
  • Follow established policies and procedures for use of personal protective equipment.
  • Knowledge of MSDS and familiarity with department and facility Performance Improvement Projects.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service.
