Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Food Production Manager and staff by ensuring that products are delivered to all customers while fostering a productive work atmosphere. This position requires close collaboration with the Food Production Manager, General Manager, team members, corporate personnel, location managers, and clients. Adherence to company policies and procedures is essential, alongside maintaining cleanliness, efficiency, and accuracy in operations, all aimed at maximizing profitability through effective sales and marketing strategies as defined by Trexcon Inc.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to the Food Production Manager.

CLASSIFICATION: Management Role

COMPENSATION: Hourly Wage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures established by Trexcon Inc.
  2. Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.
  3. Adapt to changes proactively and manage additional tasks as assigned. Maintain flexibility in daily operations and scheduling.
  4. Support the mission and vision of Trexcon Inc.
  5. Deliver prompt and courteous customer service.
  6. Oversee the import, tracking, and assembly of daily orders, including client communication to confirm order receipt.
  7. Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of potential team members.
  8. Delegate and assist in the completion of daily responsibilities.
  9. Create daily production schedules, preparation lists, and labels, as well as manage order entry and modifications.
  10. Develop staff work schedules while ensuring total hours remain within budgeted limits.
  11. Organize training sessions for new hires.
  12. Regularly check and respond to internal communications.
  13. Order supplies from approved vendors and manage product reception in accordance with company policy.
  14. Establish communication with corporate personnel to address procedural matters and coordinate with the Maintenance Department for repairs.
  15. Participate in management meetings.
  16. Be prepared to extend work hours as necessary to meet production demands.

DAILY TASKS:

  1. Follow all recipes and preparation guidelines accurately.
  2. Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  3. Comply with local health and safety regulations regarding food handling.
  4. Practice proper hand hygiene.
  5. Utilize gloves appropriately.
  6. Maintain food products within safe temperature ranges.
  7. Store all food items correctly based on type.
  8. Conduct daily evaluations of products to discard expired items.
  9. Accurately log product temperatures daily.
  10. Implement corrective measures for items in the temperature danger zone.
  11. Report any personal or household illnesses.

Additional responsibilities include processing and preparing orders for delivery, managing vendor check-ins, maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area, disposing of waste properly, and accurately recording work hours. Other duties may be assigned by the Food Production Manager and Director of Foodservice.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Requires prolonged periods of standing.
  2. Involves physical effort to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy items up to 50 lbs.
  3. May require occasional bending, reaching, and climbing.
  4. Some travel may be necessary.
