Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other activities related to direct patient care.
  • Arrange for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and admission to the hospital.
  • Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
  • Document patient vital statistics and other encounter data into the patient chart and ensure that all required records are in the chart.
  • Obtain brief medical history and chief complaint from patients.
  • Call in prescriptions for patients according to physician order.
  • Prepare exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Clean exam rooms between procedures and exams.
  • Receive and return clinically related telephone calls; screen and forward those requiring physician action.
  • Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies.
  • Inform physicians of changes in schedule.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.
  • No experience is required.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
