Job Summary:
As a Nurse Care Specialist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and other activities related to direct patient care.
- Arrange for patient appointments for diagnostic testing, consults, referrals, and admission to the hospital.
- Monitor and maintain stock of medical supplies and ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
- Document patient vital statistics and other encounter data into the patient chart and ensure that all required records are in the chart.
- Obtain brief medical history and chief complaint from patients.
- Call in prescriptions for patients according to physician order.
- Prepare exam rooms with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Clean exam rooms between procedures and exams.
- Receive and return clinically related telephone calls; screen and forward those requiring physician action.
- Complete medical/physical history forms and other related information for insurance companies.
- Inform physicians of changes in schedule.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.
- No experience is required.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
