We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Operating Room Technician First Assistant PRN to join our team at Physicians Pavilion Surgery Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will work closely with our surgeons to provide exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during operative procedures, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to ensure safe and efficient outcomes.
- Restock and change over rooms between cases, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, expediting procedures while minimizing patient stress.
- Ensure patient temperature is discussed with anesthesia personnel, adhering to desired temperature ranges.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical draping according to surgeon's protocol.
- Facilitate hemostasis of the surgical site by performing suction, irrigation, and sponging during procedures.
- Assist with skin or external suturing and stapling under the surgeon's direction.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited program in surgical assisting and attainment of the CSFA credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
- BLS certification.
- One year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
- Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) certification.
- Valid BCLS certification upon employment.
