Job Title: Product Design Engineer

Location: Chillicothe, IL (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months Contract (Potential Temp to Perm)

Pay Rate: Starting at $38/hr.

Shift Time: M-F; 1st Shift M-F (7am-3:30pm)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop new materials and competitive products, and oversee the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
  • Collaborate with supply specialists and buyers to develop and execute supplier development and performance strategies.
  • Lead the efforts of drafting and testing specialists, and develop and document functional requirements and detail design documents.
  • Participate in buy-build analysis for product components, and communicate with cross-function engineering teams to understand various requirements of product design.
  • Test and evaluate alternative means of production, and use automated tools to design or modify product designs.
  • Assist in building complex prototypes of products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum, with 2-4 years of experience and knowledge of cooling systems technology and various application methods.
  • Ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges, and knowledge of product features.
  • Ability to design, build, and develop new products, technologies, or services from concept through to production, and knowledge of tools and techniques of specialized graphics programs.
  • Ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts, and knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis.
  • Ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems, and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors, and knowledge of effective self-management practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of processes, approaches, tools, and techniques of product design, and ability to convert customer and market requirements into product design.
  • Working knowledge of virtual analysis as it pertains to structural life/durability requirements.
