Electrical Product Specialist

Eaton's ES AMER NAS division is seeking an Electrical Product Specialist to achieve acceptability of Eaton's electrical products in the marketplace. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, OEMs, outside rep agencies, and internal and external customers.
The primary function of this role is to lead the design, development, and validation of Eaton products and service applications. The candidate will be responsible for positioning Eaton products to best compete against competitive products.
The Electrical Product Specialist will provide efficient and accurate pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customer needs. They will manage daily phone and email activity, provide directions, solutions, and recommendations, and effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies.
The successful candidate will serve on special teams to enhance team performance and drive process improvement, productivity, customer satisfaction, and high-performance work culture. They will also provide training to technical support engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Call on electrical engineers at related consulting firms across the assigned sales territory to assist with technical design and position Eaton-related products in a preferred position.
- Provide support on major projects, including submittals, drawings, and interfacing with the customer and project consultants.
- Work with institutional end users to gain acceptance and promote Eaton products.
- Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions to end users, consultants, and sales engineers.
- Assist customers with design-build opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or electrical engineering experience.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Knowledge of Eaton electrical products, services, and competitive offerings.
Skills:
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid.
- Ability to assist with the layout and design control and monitoring systems using Eaton's assembly and component products.
- Skillful at leading teams, consensus building, and mentoring.
- Initiative and self-management skills.
- Value selling experience.
- Electrical product knowledge.
- Presentation and training skills.
- Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton's capabilities.
- Technical knowledge regarding the application of power distribution products.
- Proficient on some or all of the following: power quality and reliability products and applications, power monitoring products and applications, power control products and applications.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as facility engineers at universities, municipalities, and end users.
- Possess knowledge of products, markets, channels, and associated applications.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
Compensation:
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $138,750 - $203,500.
Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
