POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary objective of this role is to deliver safe and effective healthcare to pediatric patients. This includes contributions to clinical services, engaging in the education and training of medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare trainees, as well as conducting independent and collaborative research. The position also involves participation in scholarly activities and administrative services aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Patient Care:
Deliver compassionate and effective patient care that aligns with the level of expertise and clinical specialization. Establish a reputation among peers and patients as a leading authority in pediatric care. Document patient interactions meticulously and may introduce innovative patient care methodologies. Conduct thorough examinations, coordinate care services, and make informed decisions regarding patient treatment plans.

2. Research and Education:
Mentor and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows to ensure high standards of patient care. Actively engage in educational initiatives, including lectures and bedside teaching. Participate in collaborative research projects and maintain high-quality research operations while ensuring fiscal responsibility. Foster the development of research programs and contribute to the academic growth of trainees.

3. Administrative Duties:
Engage in service and administrative functions, contributing to the development of patient care programs and performance improvement initiatives. Actively participate in departmental activities and uphold departmental policies and standards. Lead efforts to integrate existing programs and develop new initiatives that align with the division's goals.

4. Scholarly Contributions:
Demonstrate a commitment to scholarly activities through the publication of research findings, participation in clinical trials, and contributions to educational literature. Mentor colleagues in research methodologies and assist in securing funding for research initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent
- Unrestricted medical license
- Completion of all pre-employment requirements
- Eligibility for Assistant Professor appointment
- Relevant clinical practice experience may be necessary based on departmental needs.

Preferred:
- Board certification
- Three years of experience in research or laboratory settings.

SKILLS:
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to relate to diverse populations
- Strong analytical skills for data evaluation
- Organizational and prioritization skills
- Knowledge of research methodologies and pediatric care practices.
