Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide speech and language therapy to students: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' communication needs.
  • Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed records of students' progress, including service notes and assessment results.
  • Evaluate students: Assess students' communication skills and make recommendations for speech and language services as needed.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Collaborate with teachers and other education staff to develop and implement IEPs that address students' communication needs.
  • Consult with school staff and parents: Provide guidance and support to school staff and parents on how to support students' communication development.
  • Participate in Medicaid billing process: Assist with the billing process for school-based services, as directed.

Requirements:

  • Wisconsin SLP license: Must be licensed to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Department of Public Instruction (DPI) certification: Must be certified by the DPI to work in a Wisconsin school district.
