Position Overview:
As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting nuclear medicine procedures as directed by physicians. Your role will involve operating imaging equipment safely to acquire high-quality diagnostic images. You will prepare the procedure room, manage medications and supplies, and perform quality control functions within the department, all while adhering to IASIS Healthcare's customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect patient information through interviews to ensure the appropriateness of procedures.
2. Document all patient doses accurately.
3. Prepare the room and patient for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
4. Properly identify yourself to patients prior to procedures.
5. Consistently perform quality control on all relevant equipment.
6. Receive and document all radio-pharmaceuticals in compliance with state regulations.
7. Notify appropriate personnel of supply shortages or departmental issues, including equipment malfunctions.
8. Contribute to a team-oriented environment to provide optimal patient care.
9. Demonstrate proficiency in operating cameras and computers, adjusting parameters as needed for optimal studies.
10. Schedule exams to enhance patient flow.
11. Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing required badges and performing radiation surveys.
12. Ensure correct labeling of doses before administration to patients.
13. Dispose of radioactive waste appropriately and document actions.
14. Perform venipuncture in accordance with hospital policies.

Required Qualifications:
1. Current ARRT registered certification in Radiography with RT (N) designation and/or current NMTCB registered certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology with CNMT designation.
2. Current state license as a Radiologic Technologist in Nuclear Medicine.
3. Current BLS certification.
