Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at Heartland Center for Behavioral Change. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care and services to individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify client needs and goals, and determine the most appropriate level of care.
  • Provide direct services, including individual counseling, group counseling, and family education/therapy.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the client and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and services.
  • Provide crisis assistance and refer clients to appropriate services as needed.
Requirements
  • Certified or registered as a substance use professional by the Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc.
  • OR
  • Is an LPC, PLPC, LMSW, LCSW, physician, psychologist, or nurse practitioner licensed in the state of Missouri.
  • Has at least one year of full-time equivalent experience in the treatment or rehabilitation of substance use disorder.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of community resources and services related to substance use disorder treatment.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and maintain a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The successful candidate must have and remain in possession of a valid current driver's license, automobile insurance, and be insurable under the agency's motor vehicle insurance policy.
