About the Position

The Ophthalmic Technician will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team at St. Luke's Cataract & Laser Institute. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients for appointments with the physician, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Interviewing patients and documenting their medical history, diagnostic testing, and treatment plans.
  • Scribing for the physician during appointments, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Job Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced clinic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • A working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment, including HVF, Lensometry, Keratometry, Tonometry, Visual Fields, Amslers, Muscle Fields, Pupil Exams, and Refracting.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, preferably Epic and IOL Master.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
