Job Title: RN Resident

Join OU Health as a RN Resident in our Ortho Trauma unit and embark on a rewarding nursing career. As a RN Resident, you will have the opportunity to work with a collaborative care team and receive education provided to the Trauma ICU nurses.

About the Role:

As a RN Resident, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. You will work under general supervision and assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Your duties will include documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, assisting physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and administering medication as prescribed.

Responsibilities:
  • Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
  • Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
  • Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Administers medication as prescribed.
  • Initiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Delivers patient care competently.
  • Interacts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Informs patient and family of hospital procedures.
  • Makes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegates tasks to support staff.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
