About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Software Engineering to lead our technical teams and drive product development goals aligned with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative and innovative environment that promotes team retention and job satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and expand multiple teams of software engineers focused on product development.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for the professional and technical growth of team members.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define application capabilities and testing scenarios.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software engineering practices.
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions using a full stack of development tools and technologies.
  • Ensure the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.
  • Stay current with tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and participate in technology communities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity.
  • Enhance the velocity and efficiency of your teams and others.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in building large scale enterprise distributed event driven applications.
  • Experience in building micro front ends.
  • Experience in designing and integrating RESTful and Streaming APIs and event driven messaging frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise and integration design patterns especially in streaming integration with User interfaces.
  • Good understanding of React, Java, Kafka, Databases (Postgres and Snowflake), API Gateways.
  • Understanding of business process management engines and business rules engines.
  • Knowledge of scaling and performance tuning of applications.
  • Experience in setting up observability and logging tools/frameworks.
  • Excellent debugging and optimization skills.
  • Experience in unit/integration testing.
