Job Title: Survey CAD Technician

Civil Science is seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join our team in North Dakota. As a Survey CAD Technician, you will work closely with project managers, professional land surveyors, and engineers to create legal boundaries, descriptions, and plat maps. You will also reduce survey data from conventional GPS and LiDAR point clouds to create topographic maps and provide construction staking calculations for survey crews using AutoCAD Civil3D.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D to reduce survey data and create topographic survey and terrain models/surfaces
  • Plot legal descriptions and create legal boundaries for plat maps, ALTA's, and other legal instruments
  • Create alignments, corridors, pipe networks, 3D terrain models, etc. to support data extraction or development for survey and construction staking tasks
  • Experience with survey data field collection methods/procedures
  • Exposure to LiDAR data post-processing will be highly valued
  • Understanding of and an ability to review construction plans and drawings to prepare survey/construction staking data
  • 2+ years of CADD experience with survey and/or civil engineering projects related to land development, municipal infrastructure/utilities, or transportation
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Eagerness to learn and evolve within a fast-paced environment
