Job Summary

As a Patient Access Coordinator, your primary role will be to deliver outstanding customer service to patients during every interaction.

Being the initial point of contact, you will have the chance to create a positive experience for patients by fostering a welcoming and secure atmosphere, whether over the phone or in person.

Responsibilities
  • REGISTRATION: Manage the creation, scanning, and routing of documents or electronic forms. Inform patients about necessary documents and secure signatures. Establish financial responsibility and assist with arrangements in accordance with policies and procedures. Collect co-payments and payments on account balances. Address registration errors or denied insurance claims.
  • SCHEDULING: Collaborate with nursing staff and providers to coordinate and schedule appointments that meet patient needs. Obtain and manage referrals and pre-authorizations. Check patients in and out, operate multi-line phones, and resolve work queue issues.
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Prepare and coordinate patient charts, assist with financial aid initiatives, administer assessments, coordinate telemedicine appointments, and conduct reminder calls for appointments.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; post-secondary education is advantageous. A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, and strong customer service skills are essential. Six months of customer service experience is desired.
Some locations may require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
