We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nursing Specialist to join our team at the County of Lake, California.

About the Position

As a Public Health Nursing Specialist, you will play a vital role in promoting and preserving community health through nursing services, health education, and consulting services. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and coordinate a variety of community health nursing services, including special programs such as the HIV/AIDS Program or Communicable Disease Surveillance and Case Management.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience in community health nursing and be able to lead, coordinate, and train other professional nursing and support staff. They will also be responsible for developing and administering program budgets, ensuring that all activities are aligned with the county's goals and objectives.

A successful Public Health Nursing Specialist will be able to demonstrate expertise in disease prevention and control, health awareness promotion, and program development and evaluation. They will also be able to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including patients, families, and community leaders.

Requirements
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse in California
  • Eligibility for State Skilled Professional Medical Personnel (SPMP) classification as defined by 42 CFR PART 432
  • One (1) year of full-time community health nursing experience comparable to a Community Health Nurse I with the County of Lake, or completion of sufficient education and experience to meet State of California certification requirements

In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, experience working in a community health setting, and a passion for public health initiatives.

Benefits
