Position Summary:
Under close supervision, the Cashier is responsible for receiving payments from customers or employees for goods and services. This role involves accurately recording amounts received, computing bills, and issuing receipts or tickets. The Cashier will also manage cash transactions, prepare transaction reports, and ensure the security of cash at all times. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with setup and cleanup operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate a cash register or equivalent, processing payments in cash, checks, or charges while issuing receipts.
2. Ensure accurate ringing of sale items and barcode scanning.
3. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
4. Maintain security protocols for cash handling.
5. Follow established cash-handling policies and procedures.
6. Assist in meal preparation and dining area maintenance as needed.
7. Stock beverage areas and service items as assigned.
8. Participate in training related to food safety and allergens.
9. Report accidents and injuries promptly.
10. Adhere to safety and risk management policies.
11. Engage in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
12. Attend designated training programs, both in-person and virtual.
13. Assist in reconciling transactions and operating related equipment.
14. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to follow structured processes and instructions;
Proficient in reading and writing in English;
Basic mathematical skills for cash handling;
Familiarity with personal computers and electronic cash handling equipment;
Flexibility in work schedule and task assignments;
Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders;
Awareness of safety practices in a busy environment;
Strong customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
Most duties are performed indoors in a cafeteria setting with exposure to background noise from equipment and customers.
