Position Summary

The Yard Truck Operator is tasked with the efficient relocation of loaded and unloaded trailers within the logistics center. This role requires sound judgment to optimize trailer movements, ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck, skillfully maneuvering 53' trailers into confined spaces without damage.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including fluid level checks, air filter cleaning, and damage assessments, while ensuring load security.
  • Utilize yard management systems effectively.
  • When necessary, operate a forklift to handle pallets or materials.
  • Stack pallets or materials according to inventory guidelines.
  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain Relogistics performance expectations.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment in compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Strong math, language, and reading skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to promote a safe work environment.
  • Previous experience with yard trucks or semi-trucks is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
