POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of both the interior and exterior of the facility. This role involves performing various cleaning tasks, routine maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure a hygienic environment. The individual will also manage grounds maintenance and handle deliveries as required.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility.
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform vacuuming and floor care as needed.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling, replacing liners as necessary.
  • Utilize proper waste management techniques for hazardous materials.
  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness in break rooms and lunch areas.
  • Operate and care for cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
  • Wash windows and doors as required.
  • Notify supply management when cleaning materials need replenishing.
  • Ensure availability of essential supplies like paper towels and toilet paper.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Keep maintenance areas organized and tidy.
  • Thoroughly clean work areas at the end of each shift.
  • Possess reliable transportation for travel to various locations.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule based on operational needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work environment includes exposure to machinery noise and various weather conditions.
  • Regular contact with cleaning chemicals; safety precautions must be observed.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent communication is required.
  • This position is physically demanding, involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds is necessary.
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Availability for emergency support during off-hours is essential.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • At least three years of experience in janitorial services, preferably in healthcare settings.
