Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results, collaborating closely with educators, parents, and caregivers to ensure alignment with educational objectives.
  • Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students, including individual and group sessions, targeting areas such as articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection, adjusting therapy interventions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate speech and language goals into students educational plans and daily routines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and administrative tasks in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed of current research, trends, and best practices in speech-language pathology through professional development activities and continuing education.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
  • Certification: ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and California state licensure or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred.
