The Child Life Specialist will play a vital role in promoting family-centered care and meeting the psychosocial needs of patients and families. This includes providing education, preparation, procedural support, psychosocially supportive interventions, play therapy, and serving as a liaison between parents and professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide education and preparation to patients and families to help them cope with medical procedures and hospital stays.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each patient and family.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to child life services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Professional Child Life certification through the Child Life Council within 1 year of employment.
  • Must be currently accepted into, actively in, or finished with an official child life internship.
