Job Summary

Bishop Gadsden is seeking a skilled Floor Technician to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our flooring and carpeting. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Floor Maintenance: Vacuum carpeted hallways and common areas daily, spot clean and shampoo carpets, move furniture in parlors and clean flooring areas underneath as needed.
  • Trash and Linen Removal: Empty trash from utility rooms and activity rooms, transport trash via golf cart and trailer to appropriate areas, ensure trash rooms are clean and organized.
  • Specialized Cleaning: Sweep and mop all floors as needed, strip, wax, and buff applicable floors as needed, sweep mats and entrance ways to buildings, removing any trash or debris.
  • Event Setup and Breakdown: Set up functions and events according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), break down after functions.
  • Additional Duties: Scrub floors and bathrooms in common areas and resident apartments, clean outside areas of buildings as instructed by supervisor, pressure wash certain areas of the buildings when needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous floor technician experience preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills necessary for exchanging information and maintaining a courteous relationship with residents, families, visitors, and Bishop Gadsden employees.
