Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Scientist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing and other health provider research and evidence-based practice activities to promote the delivery of patient-centered care and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research studies to advance professional practice and improve patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to design and conduct research projects.
  • Provide leadership and education to staff on research and evidence-based practice.
  • Identify opportunities for research funding and assist departments and individuals in applying for grants.
  • Mentor and coach staff on research submission, abstract development, and publication.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools of nursing, nursing experts, and community resources.
  • Integrate professional practice standards, evidence-based recommendations, and research into nursing practice.
  • Facilitate changes in practice based on research and quality improvement findings.
  • Stay current with healthcare trends, legislative, and regulatory issues.
  • Promote participation in research opportunities and patient and provider safety.
Requirements
  • PhD in nursing preferred; actively pursuing a nursing PhD a minimal requirement.
  • Five years of experience in nursing practice.
  • Experience in study design and the research process.
  • Experience facilitating nursing research and evidence-based practice.
  • Valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
